Coastal Kitchen Interior Design
Ideas, layouts, colors and materials for a coastal kitchen — plus the pieces that make the look work.

Designing a coastal kitchen
A coastal kitchen blends the coastal look — airy + sheltered, bleached oak, limestone, linen, seagrass — with layouts and details that suit a kitchen. Start with the palette, anchor the room around a focal point, then layer in texture and lighting.
Coastal kitchen palette
Build most of the room from chalk, limestone and pale oak. Use dune sand to connect the textures, sea-glass grey once or twice and soft ink only where the composition needs an edge.
Color roles
A softened mineral white that reflects light without turning cold blue.
The mid-tone for weave, flooring and shadow between paler surfaces.
A muted blue-green accent for one cloth plane rather than an entire theme.
Adds dry warmth and visible grain to furniture and screens.
A restrained dark note for art, task surfaces or fine metal lines.
